there are few kind of movies which while watching you get suck into the brilliant concept, near to realistic execution, career best performances by the lead and supporting cast and yet you come out of the theatre with a feel of something is missing…..and Kuberaa is one such movie where though I enjoyed the off beat concept and narration but I might hesitate to suggest others to watch this movie as I overheard conversations of few audiences feeling that the movie is a test to their patience
Story wise, we have seen many movies with the storyline of Rich vs Poor which has scope for pure commercial formula!!! But its Sekhar Kammula’s vision to set up an Ultra Rich vs a Begger in a near Realistic approach without any commercial elements should be appreciated 🙏
Especially the way he designed few scenes, only a director who gives ZERO FUCKS to Hero Worship and Commercial Story Telling can only pull such things off 🙏
Acting wise Dhanush is sure shot to get all the awards for his acting…His body language, Smile, Dialogue Delivery everything makes us believe that he has been a begger since his childhood….The only thing that put me off was I felt Dhanush was bit hefty in couple of scenes for a Begger 😂😉
In his Vast Career I personally feel that No Role perfectly suited Nagarjuna’s body language and Voice Modulation as much as this role suited him 🙏 Its as if he was born to portray this role to perfection 🫡
Initially I was surprised on why Sekhar ditched Sai Pallavi for Rashmika, but after watching movie I understood that out of all Sekhar’s movies this is the one which has weak arch for an actress but still its yards ahead when compared to Heroine roles in other movies…and Rashmika though with her own limitations and regular trying to be cute expressions gave way more matured performance
The only commercial aspect of this movie is DSP’s Background Music….and he did elevate intense scenes with his terrific BGM which gives goosebumps.
Special Shout Out to the Thought provoking dialogues….especially the one where Rashmika indirectly makes all of realise that we are Beggers in one way or the other is pure Philosophical 🙏
Length of the movie could be a reason of complaint for some….but thats the case with each and every Sekhar’s movie. I have seen fee reviews of complaining about abrupt climax but I felt with no commercial elements included where the Hero is not educated to take on the Corporate system Intelligently nor has brute power to beat the shit out of them…then its the only possible way to reach the climax of the movie, else it would have been a never ending saga 🙄
