Korean Kanakaraju is one such film where you really cannot decide which genre it actually belongs to!!!! Initially, I was skeptical about watching this film as I generally stay away from Horror movies, but somehow ended up watching it after the weekend due to the so-called positive talk!!!! But after watching the movie, I was still confused about which category it needs to be placed in.... Horror? Action? Comedy?
This movie perfectly fits into that category called a One Man Show!!! And it is Satya’s One Man Show in a Multi-Starrer, where Varun Tej played the second hero role to perfection 👌 as he took care of the other elements like FIGHTS & DANCES!!!
Though Varun Tej tried his best with a different slang and mass role....it is Satya as Kishtappa who simply stole the limelight with his effortless body language!!! And to be frank, this movie worked only because of him, else it would have been SHIT!!!!! There was nothing much for Ritika Nayak to do except look cute....
Story & Core Point wise, I felt that the writer somehow stole the discarded initial drafts of Lawrence’s Kanchana series....and the way the story was developed and treated also looked very silly. Especially, the AI effects in the climax felt very AMATEURISH 😉
Director & Writer Merlapaka Gandhi started his career with movies like Venkatadri Express and Express Raja and made some good comedy movies with fresh story plots relevant to their time. However, his recent failures seem to have forced him to take the safest bet with Satya this time. Except for the Korean angle, almost everything else looks familiar.
Music and Background Score by Thaman felt pretty much as-is, with nothing much exciting. He was comfortably in his usual zone and has already given similar BGMs at least 20 times.
The actual title of the movie should have been Kanakaraju c/o Kishtappa!!!!
With their careers starting to head downhill, Director Merlapaka Gandhi and Actor Varun Tej simply turned towards Satya for some much-needed REVIVAL!!!!
